Christmas Presents

Did anybody get a gun or something gun related this Christmas?

I got an ammo bag, binoculars,and a .22 Savage semi-auto.

My 22 Savage works good,it has a few occasional jams, but nothing major, and it shoots somewhat to the right, but I probably have to adjust the sight.
I used .22 bullets found at the range, some brass, and one copper, they all fired fine.

I used some of the money I got to buy a new Savage .17HMR. I love it. Also bought some decent glass for it. The rest of the money I used for ammo and fishing gear.

I got a Blackhawk range bag and 1100 rounds of ammunition! My wife got tired of seeing me get presents from family and friends that I really didn't need or couldn't use, so she emailed everybody a list of my favorite types of ammo! and suggested that 'anything on this list would be a great Christmas present for Jay'. But 1100 rounds? Wow!

No, she doesn't have a twin sister!

Wink

Gun related gift(s)...yes I did. Wife got me a new 15 H.P. boat motor to put on my boat as it sits in the garage where I can store some of my guns.

That's as close as I came to getting something gun related this Christmas.

Exclamation

I have an old friend who has majored in hunting his entire life, and consequently is destitute now. I've tried to take him hunting with me when I've gone recently. I still learn from him. He sent me a $50 certificate to Cabelas. I'm so touched I think I'll go fill his freezer with venison next weekend.

Thumbs up

frozentorso...Along the line of what you did, I picked up my processed venison this past Saturday and dropped off four tubes of summer sausage and four steaks to the guy who let me hunt on his property this past November.

I believe it's the right thing to do when someone allows you to hunt on his property year after year.

I bought meself a Norinco .22 rimfire rifle, it was $90. The stock is scratched and dented, but only the slightest crud on the metal and the bore is great, shoots like crazy, love it.

Best present of all was the totally unseasonal cool weather I experienced out west over xmas. I expected 100 - 110F and it barely reached 70, sweet!
