| Senior Member | I have looked in the local gun dealers, and local gun dealer catoluages and cannot find many 6.5X55 rifles. Was wondering how good the 260 remington was in comparison. I thought that the 6.5X55 having the slightly larger case may have an advantage for reloding. Ballistics listed for the 6.5X55 are not that accurate because they must factory load the cartridge so the ammo can be fired in military surplus rifles. The few 6.5X55 rifles that i did find were Ruger, and Tikka. |

| Super Moderator ![]() | 260 Remington is an excellent and more or less comparable choice IF you find a rifle for it that you like. Unfortunately, Remington dropped the ball by offering the 260 in the fringe of rifles instead of their core. I have a Howa incoming in 6.5x55 Swede and have great expectations for it.
