Likely either an M38, if funds permit, in the near'ish future... or the REAL one I want next is the Benelli M3 with ghost rings and pistol grip stock, but I don't have the $1000-$1200 people are asking for them. I won't have that kind of cash until I graduate with my chemistry degree and can get a full-time job after the Summer of '08.

I'm undecided between the New Mossberg 930 turkey autoload shotgun OR the...
535 ATS pump. turkey shotgun.
I want both !!! But one thing is for certain I will have one of them by next spring if not sooner.
billy I know you meant the next firearm but 3rd. on my list is a 358 win. in either the Brownig BLR or the Ruger hawkeye bolt action...A.H.
p.s. I would like Santa Claus to bring me a Glock 27 or 23...40 S&W or maybe the Beretta like knightRider just bought, but in 40...S&W.

Well for me the list is short but Sweet...
A bolt action 30 cal and then an Semi-Auto in the same Caliber so most likely I will look at a 308. The 30 cal has always worked well at shooting cans.... Mexi-cans, Afri-cans, Puerto Ri-cans, and trespassing Ameri-Cans
Then a Mosberg 590.

Here is my theory... Always try to stick with military and police rounds... you can always find those any place you go. That leaves me a simple list of rounds... 12 ga, 9mm, 45 acp, 38/357, 223, 308... almost as good... 30.06, 30-30, 22, 44sp/mag, 40,... Strange and hard to find I try to stay away from... I know the 6.5MM I have, but I just liked the rifle so much....

so do you think .300 winmag would be something hard to keep ammo for.

You wont have any trouble at all in keeping your 300 win mag in ammo, it is very easy to find. Next gun I want is the Howa 1500 in 338 WM.
