I put my money down today for a new rifle..or handgun. It depends on how you view the length of a gun. It will be here hopefully by next weekend. FINALLY got the Auto Ordnance 1927-A1 deluxe. A Tommy gun, Chicago typwriter. I got a LOT of reloading to do. |

Snake, it's a rifle, the Auto Ordnance 1927-A1 is a rifle by BATF's deffinition. The "real" Tommy gun has barrel that's shorter than 16". 12" on the real oneand that falls into no-no area according to BARF. Hope you get a better sight than standard. Standard sights are crude , my opine. Not sure what the site distance is calibrated for but at 100 yards it's a guessing game. Gotta to rainbow the shot. Have fun snakebite

Its semi. I only wish for full auto. Actually I dont full auto. I cant reload that fast! FMJ, A .45 will never be known as the most accurate round but dang, its fun! Lotsa knockdown little recoil (if reloaded) but . Spray and pray. To heck with the sights Last edited by Snakebite; 06-09-2007 at 10:07 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Its here! A 1927 A1 Deluxe. What I aint gonna say is somebody screwed up. I ordered just the gun and expected it to be delivered in a cardboard box. I got the hardcase, 50 round drum, 30 round stick mag and of course the "third hand" for the drum mag. The fit and finish are beyond compare. The walnut is superb. I have checked every inch of this gun and for the price its a steal for its machining and qualility. The trigger is stiff but I havent fired a live round yet. Just checking it out. Like I said, I got a lotta freebies and somebody lost money. Just the 50 rnd drum is $300, the case I dont know. It is an absolutely gorgeous gun!!!!! The desert will be alive with .45 rounds this weekend and its only going to be 108 degrees. No problem. I'm a desert rat. |

| Don't knock the accuracy of the .45 acp. It is a very accurate round in the right weapon. I agree though that a tommy gun was ment as a spray-and-pray type weapon. They are very cool. Congrats!!!

Well silver run the 45ACP may never be known as a tack driver but in the hands of an experienced marksman it is more than adequate for the mission and BTW the Germans hated the Thompson, you could dismantle an automobile with one and a drum magazine

Just practice. Strange magazine on the Tommy gun. I never knew it had to be disassembled to be loaded. Its actually pretty cool. It takes a lot of time to reload the drum but can be loaded in advance. All ya gotta do is load in advance. Then wind the drum. Look out Dillinger! And the stick mag is as easy as any .45 1911. Stick it in and shoot. Oh yeah, did I say reload? A lot. |

I've had mine for over 12 years and only shot if once. They do cause quite a stir, especially if you take it to an indoor range.
