30 40 Krag

What would you pay? I have chance for one but the stock is not original but very very nice. Everything else is original and matching.
I like the action, the round is pretty good and still available but they got a bad rap in the Spanish-American war. Its stamped 1896 and is $200.
Would you buy it for that?

i think 2 bills is a fair price. if you search long and hard, you might come up with an original stock for a fair price.

That's a good price if the action and bore are in good shape.

i would say buy it, but first is the action smooth? and is the bore in good conditions?, if both answers are yes buy it, it is a good round not the most powerful but adequate for most north American game, wouldn't recommend using it on the large bears( it might work but i wouldnt do it) it is in the same class as the 303 british,7.5x54 french mas and 300 savage and is better than the 3030 winchester, they are nice looking to boot, ammo may be a little harder to find but not imposable and could be a little more expensive than average, i would recommend reloading for it, but yes $200.00 is a good price, i believe i have seen them for at least double, BUY IT!!>>> your friend joe
