| Troll B' Gone    | New Weatherby Mark V in .378 Weatherby My boss sold this to me today, for a very good price, and I think it will be a great gun, I will have to buy reloading dies, and work up a good load for it. Oddly enough, it does not have a muzzle break, and doesn't show signs of heavy usage. I'm very excited about this.

| Senior Member | Nice, Have you ever shot 1,they have the worst recoil. Worse than a 460,416 be like shooting a 5lb 375h&h. Load it to h&h velocity then work your way up. The barnes x 270 grainer looks like a winner for anything that walks and loaded to the max shoot as flat as a 300 mag. What in Arkansas would need a 378 to kill it?  |

Trader Rating: (0) | i found this tidbit...The .378 Weatherby Magnum will generate considerable free recoil; an average of 104 J (77 ft·lbf) from a 4.1 kg (9 lb) rifle. This is in comparison to an average free recoil of 27 J (20 ft • lbf) from a rifle chambered for .30-06 Springfield. It is written that the .378 Weatherby Magnum will create a greater felt recoil than other cartridge. This includes two of its off-spring; the .416 Weatherby Magnum and .460 Weatherby Magnum shoot it and tell me about it. ive got my hands full with the .300winmag
