Question chrome lined barrels

I'm not really sure about all the positive attributes of having a chrome lined barrel or the negative ones either. All I know is it cuts down on corrosion. Can anybody tell me about them? Thanks joe

Chrome cuts down on corrosion. Maybe. The Soviets seemed to think so. If you clean your barrel, you don't need chrome.

I can tell you from experience, if you fire corrosive ammunition and do not clean properly, chrome will not keep your barrel from rusting.

Chrome does nothing to help accuracy. US custom barrel makers do not chrome line their barrels. Kind of like putting ketchup on filet mignon.

if you insist on abusing your guns, chrome lining aint a bad idea. otherwise it has no merit.

What about resistence to heat? I was told crome lined barrels can stand higher degrees of heat, and will last longer with high repetition shooting. (my gun dealers words)

I don't know about heat, but chrome reduces ware on the boar and jams related to shell casings stuck in the chamber.
