Between the 2, I would go with the Mossberg ATR, because the Remington 710 is nothing but a hunk of garbage. But, if I had my 'druthers, I'd get a Stevens or a Savage, as they are better rifles then the ATR, and more accurate.

^+1, but I've never heard anything real bad about the Mossy other than typical new-gun stuff. I've talked to a couple of guys around here that have them-both .270's, and they love 'em. The thing that both guys complained about was the built-in sling swivels and the overall cheesy stock. I sort of like the looks of the new wood-stocked 4x4's.

I have the new remington 770 (replaced the 710) in 270 winchester it is stainless steel, and the gun has a lot of improvements over the 710, bolt opens and closes effortlessly and is very smooth, the new black stock design is nice feeling, and the grip is nice as well, the trigger guard is a lot stonger and sturdier, does not have the polymer liner in the receiver as did the 710, have only got to fire it 6 times but is shooting nicely, i have no experiance with the 710 what soever except fondling one and working the bolt which seemed awful stiff compared to the new 770

Which one?

Lefty o is right on target, get the Stevens, I have one in .308 and it is a very accurate rifle with a legacy, the Savage 110 action. Let those other guys work out the bugs. 316.00 .75" with factory ammo.

I've not had anything to do with the Mossberg so i dont really have an opinion but a few months back i had the displeasure to spend a week with a brand new Rem 710 in .30-06, it was easily THE worst rifle i have ever shot. It was cheap and nasty looking/feeling, fit and finish was terrible, when you worked the sloppy bolt it would bind and stick and carry on and feel like it was covered in sand. I wouldnt have one if someone offered to pay me to take it.
