| Looking for carbine rifle - general purpose
I am looking for a carbine rifle for general purpose use. I understand that no one rifle is a be all firearm. I have shot many different types and calibers. Some of what I am looking for is a caliber similar to 7.62X39, milled receiver, fixed or removeable accurate sights, accurate to minute of tennis ball, ease of use, may have an extendable or folding stock, able to mount and additional sight. Will be for some medium game hunting, plinking and possibly HD. One that has caught my attention is the new CZ VZ 58. Anyone have any good suggestions or experience with one like this? Thanks for your replies.

I looked at one, it seemed well made. Kinda heavy and way expensive. For that money you could get an Arsenal AK with a milled receiver. They are among the best of the AK breed. For a little more you could get something like the AR-10 (.308) that would be better suited to hunting. For a lot less you could get a Saiga - I hear they are very good rifles. It looks more like a hunting rifle. Also, Ruger is making the Mini 30 and a 6.8 spc version of the Mini now. |

For the money a Saiga may be what your looking for unless your after a hunting style and then I would check out the Remington 742's used, 7400's used or the newest 750 plus they have the model 7615 pump action cabine that use;s AR 15 magazines.
