Hornady introduces two caliber spinoffs from the .375 Ruger case. Meet the .338 and .300 RCM.

Just when you thought it was safe to finally buy that new rifle - here comes yet another cartridge to look at. How many cartridges do we really need that do the same thing?

I think we all saw this one coming from a mile away, I don't think I'll be trading in my .300 or .338 Win mag to get one

I actually think that case is a really good one to base new rounds from. Maybe the 300 just because it's a bullet everyone uses. But the 338 RUM matching the famous 338 Lapua's ballistics makes one wonder why someone would stick a round in between it and the 338 Win Mag. Everyone either thinks the RUM is fine or the Win Mag kicks too much.

I wish they went more in the dangerous game direction and did a 458 mased on the 375 Ruger case.

I stand corrected - after reading the article, it seems that the 300 TCM is just another 300 short mag. That makes 3.

But the 338 TCM is the much awaited 338 short mag. So I have to reverse my previous position of liking the 300 and not the 338.
