Parker-Hales were made in Birmingham ,England and Imported until 1991, when Navy Arms bought The rights and moved the plant to West Viginia. The New Co. is Called Gibbs Rifle Co.
Parker Hale Rifle use a K-98 Mauser Action, the Model 1100 was available in 9 Calibers between 22-250 and 30/06, 22 in. Barrel,6-1/2 lbs, new in 1985.
value 350.00 to 500.00 in top shape !

wow. this is a great gun. The only problem I have is the bolt handle is to close to the scope and if I was in a hurry for a second shot I will hit my knuckles, but my extractors messed up any way, it will pull them out, just not eject them.

Being its a Mauser action, any Qualified Gunsmith can fix the ejector...as far as bolt handle , learn to Palm it with your hand flat open up and back, then the heel of your hand will push it forward, all the while your hand is open parallell to the scope, and down to lock!

I have one of that rifles brothers in 308 also, the stock is a very light timber as well,it has a black mountain heavy barell and im told it was originally a single shot rifle, the mag and floorplate assembly is taken from a K98 and sadly was installed by bubba or one of his closest reelashions ,so its not as nice as it could be,It currently has a small feed problem which will be corrected soon.
Its been epoxy bedded and the barell is floated.
It also has the Harris bipod, maybe they came that way? or just the era?
It weighs a lot!! never really weighed it to see how much! not a good stalker but very steady to shoot.
Im quite sure it has accuracy beyond my skills and needs for that matter but it sure works well for my uses, mostly used for ferals such as pigs and dingoes/wild dogs and such, rarely more than 150 mts out.
You gotta love the 308!!!! dont you!!
Just buy yourself a nice new set of higher scope mounts and u got yourself a gamegetter right there buddy!!!!
Regards.

When I was a young kid I subscribed Out Door Life magazine and every issue had an ad in it by Parker Hale with a picture of the rifle you have posted.
I wanted one so much and decided when I grew up I'd have me one.
Of course years later I forgot about Parker Hale.
Thanks for posting your gun it brought back some memorys and yea If I could find one and had the money I might consider buying it. Thanks...A.H

Yep and matter of fact I left here and went and watched t.v. but I did'nt watch it I thought about the excitement Out Door Life magazine gave me as a kid and the the feelings I had back then even returned.
I always paused to admire that Parker Hale rifle.
I still subscribe the magazine along with Field and Stream and for 40 years I subscribed Guns and Ammo and let it run out 3 years ago.
Sports Afield ran out in July I think.
Anyway thanks for the thread...A.H
