Pictures at gun shows?

A buddy and I went to the crossroads gun show today. My buddy took a picture of a gun that his brother who couldnt go today, and we were told that it was against the law to take the picture and we could be kicked out. The dealer then said he didn't care and just wanted to give us the heads up. Anybody know why you cant take pictures at a gun show?

That doesn't make much sense, I've honestly never encountered that problem at a gun show.

pictures at a gun show

yes!!!! im here in california.... went to the cow palace gun show in south san francisco.... !!! they posted at the entrance that no photography was allowed!!!

...... i assume it's to discourage anti gun political assholes from getting easily distorted propoganda photos......

im a good photographer..... i could go into a gun show with a camera and frighten the shit out of the general public........

as a practical matter, we need to involve more people into shooting, gun safety.... spend more time with kids in the woods ....... ?

illegal?

Part of the 'picture' taking concern was and is caused; at least in this area; by the BATF's picturing taking of individuals coming and going.

Court cases have been challenged by BATF's illegal practice. No winners. BATF has utilized this practice: ?watching over? potential drug rings buying throw away weapons.

Gun show promoters banned the practice.
Has it worked? no. I still see folks with "phonecams"

That youngun will never enjoy a safari in the woods and a chance to let them shoot as much as I do and the fact that when they ask a question and I answer, they are actually listening to me and not blanking me out. They love to learn and I love to give them the opportunity. sam.

After some research, I found That professional Gun Show Promoters Hold the Rights to Media, which includes Photography... Some Anti-gun forces have secretly photographed Patrons, and Guns at various shows, trying to get ammunition to shut down Gun Shows because of "Straw Man Purchases" and Criminals buying guns Illegally...They have now discovered a way of taping conversations and transactions using Cell phones and Wav Files.

It is strongly discourage down here as well. Although, I don't think a dealer would mind you using a cell phone to snap a pic of a specific gun to send to your buddy - so long as you ask first.

Talking

I committed this faux-paux when I attended my first gunshow - I was also into photography, and took my nifty little Pentax K1000 into the show. I was told real quick - "NO pictures!"
It was awhile before I went to another gunshow . . .

But I got over it.

gun porn? was that firearm laying naked out side of it's holster or gun case??? In public?

maybe prominent anti gun types are afraid of being seen at a gun show? in reality those that run the guns shows are probably afraid of their products being recorded and accused of selling illegal items??????/
