Has anyone used the "Laserlyte" bore sighter?

Just wondering if anyone has used this particular bore sighter and if it's any good. I am thinking about buying one.

The thing I dont care for is you need long distance to use them and my gun room isnt that big so I have to take over the house to use one.As to performance, they are as good as any boresite, you still have to fine tune.I believe they are worth it. sam.

I've used a similar one raodie. What would you be bore sighting; pistol or rifle? There not hard to use. Basically only meant to get you on paper. However, if you get a decent one, that is centered pretty good, you can set a pistol laser sight or Crimson Trace laser grip dead on for like 15 or 20 feet. For rifle, you'll need at least 100 yards. Or you can get the BSA boresighter and again, it will only get you on paper then you can go from there.

I line-up the light on my shop (close to 100yrds away)through the bore with the rifle bedded securely. Then center the crosshairs on the light. Works perfectly. Might freak-out your neighbours if they can see you,so use your own discretion.

Good, then I will get one...now I need some help sighting in. I must either be doing a whole lot really wrong, or my scopes just do not work. I have a bsa 4x and an FM 6-24. I was out yesterday trying to sight them in and am having much difficulty. Neither scope is an expensive model, and since all I do is plink I don't want to spend a ton on optics. I used to have the 4x on my .22, then I got my tapco T6 for the .22 and added the 6-24x as well, I put the 4x on my AR. The problem is I can't seem to get the reticle to line up on a target, I don't have my bore sighter yet so that may give me better luck. But it seems that when I am almost on target I run out of room to move the crosshairs, it seems I need little more room to adjust. I am sighting in a a 100 yard target, and you would think this would be fine. Here's the kicker. When I had the 4x on my .22 before I put the T6 on it I had it sighted in perfectly...so what gives?

cheap scopes are probably a good part of your problem. without examining your rifle in person, it is hard to say for sure whats wrong.

I would check your rings and bases to see if you mounted them properly. The scope itself, cheap or not should have plenty of ajustment left.

You don't always have to pay big bucks for a decent scope. So cheap scope is only a matter of opinion.

Another way you can try to sight it in, just for practice, is putting the crosshairs or is it a red dot? either way, take a 3 shot group keeping the crosshairs or red dot in the same spot when you take all three shots. Then, holding the crosshairs or red dot in the same spot you took the three shots from, move the center of the crosshairs or red dot to the center of the 3 shot group. If your not quite there, take another, repeat the process. If after say the 3rd try, I'd do as Mod 70 suggested and check out the rings. You may need to get a scope alignment and lapping tool to make sure the rings are clamping the scope properly. If it is only tightening on one edge, you can actually not only ruin the scope if you over tightened it, but it can throw the scope off.

It's on my wish list. lol But then, there's a ton of stuff on my wish list.
