GECO Rifle, 22 LR

My great, great uncle left an old GECO single shot bolt action 22 rifle to my dad. my dad gave it to my brother, it now sits in a gun case in the closet. very good condition. Has a custom hand made stock that is very nice. I am just wondering if anyone has ever heard of these or has any info on them. I think it is german made, not sure. All I know is that it is old. Any info. would be great. Thanks a lot.

GECO was a German company in the immediate post-WWII era, maybe earlier. My main knowledge of them is seeing pics of the Mauser Shotguns they made and sold using surplus K98 Mauser actions after WWII. Simple and rugged guns, more utilitarian than beautiful.
Hopefully, someone else will have more info.

That action does look similar to the gun i have, so maybe it is simply a sporterized version of that rifle. i have heard at one point that it was worth alot, not sure though. I do know it is very accurate, and with the hand made stock it is a very beautiful gun as well. I know that my great uncle hand made the walnut stock, so it is very nice.
