Favorite cartridge

What is your favorite cartridge? Whether it is a rimfire, centerfire, or handgun cartridge, what is it?

Hard question.

I own and shoot more .22 lr's than anything else.
I think that my .308's are the most useful.
The 30-30 is very useful, but in a lightweight package.
My .45 fits in my pistol.
My .380 fits in my pocket.

I know, not all that helpful an answer.

Love the 9mm Parabellum, the world's most underrated pistol cartridge. For 20+ years I was a .45 auto fan and sneered at the puny little nine, until I bought one and took a good look at what it does with the hotter factory loads available. It is an incredibly efficient cartridge from a 4-5" barrel, which is what it was designed around.

Me likey BIG kaboom! Me no likey big recoil. I am enamored with 7mm/08, 260 rem, and 6.5x55 swede right now of which I own none of them. However, 7.62x54r seems to be a great substitute and the shells are a lot cheaper. And an M38 and M44 make BIG KABOOM!!!

My 275 rigby for a long gun and my 45acp for a hand gun. Just my opinion.
