| 32-40 Hi All, I just got a Winchester 1894 in 32-40. I got it when my Father in Law passed away. It's a fine looking gun with a steel butt cap. I would guess it fairly old maybe from the 20's or 30's. I remember him telling me it was the best shooter he ever had. What I was hoping all of you could help me out with is, does it take any other ammo than 32.40. |

| Start reloading, if you want decent ammunition. Otherwise, hang it on the wall and enjoy looking at it. Or sell it to me! |

| Dear old dad in law was smart enough to include 200 rnds of new ammo and reloading dies. I was just wandering if any other ammo fit it. This beauty in no wall hanger and the blue book is around $2500.00. |

| Nope shoots 32-40. You can make brass out of 38-55win brass. My family has a Marlin 1893 in this cartridge, killed a few deer with it.

| Senior Member | I feel your pain. I have a 1894 in 32 WS and havent shot it because I am afraid to break it. Had it blue booked at $3800 at the valleyforgegunshow this year. If I didnt do that I probably would be deer hunting with it. |
