| The wife is catching on Normally my wife is oblivious to my guns and she couldn't care less how many there were or which as which. This afternoon I was fondling a rifle that I had acquired recently. She looked at it, then at me. "Is that a new gun?" she asked. So she's noticing the guns now... this means I'll just have to be more discreet when adding to the collection. Dang it!

1. Pick a gun that you don't really want. 2. Sell it for whatever you can get 3. Buy her something and when she says "you shouldn't", tell her you sold one of your favorite guns cause you wanted her to have it. 4. Bask in the warmth while it lasts 5. Promptly replace sold gun

It is a blessing that our country still has enough freedom left that we still get to make some choices. My favorites are the .30-30 Winchester and the .308 Winchester. sure not anything wrong with a .243, though!

| Exalted Grand Poobah ![]() | When my wife starts about why I have so many guns, I simply reply: "Yeah? Well, when the zombies are outside the door don't ask to borrow one 'cause I'm not gonna ask you to borrow one of your purses."

| I rotate the guns my wife doesn't know I bought. What I mean I have 2 hideing places, I'll take a gun from one of the hideing place's and remove one from my gun cabinet and place the hiden Gun in the gun cabinet and the one that was in the cabinet in the hideing place. This way the new gun get's a little exposure LOL and if I were to slip up and leave one of the new one's, say leaning against the wall by my recliner she'll reconize it as just one of my "Old" guns. Right now the Pardner Pump 20ga. is in the gun cabinet in view. Later I'll change it out with one of the 22' s. I have to be on my toes when my son comes home to visit, he's a blabber mouth !!! | I think I posted about this before, what works for me is,if she ask,s about a new gun I tell her I am keeping it for a friend that cant keep it at home. Then when she notices it a couple months later I tell her 'oh,I've had that gun for a long time. sam. |

| Since my wife disovered my guns, I have tried almost every method you can imagine. I keep an empty rifle case in my truck and one in the garage. It's easier to move new guns shorter distances. I have taken empty rifles case to gun shows claiming I was selling what was inside. If I bring it back with a rifle inside, I just explain I couldn't sell it. I have hidden them at work and at a friend's house. These methods all have had limited success. By far, the most successful method has been similar to Mitch's. I make a big deal aboout selling some things on Ebay, Gunbrker, etc. It is usually the stuff that follows me home from a gun show or flea market. You know, bayonet handles, sporterized gun stocks, slings for a whichamicallit, scope rings, screws, etc. I remind her how I collected this stuff, and while it means a lot to me, I realize I have to cull the herd. The great part is that there are plenty of guys just like me (and you) out there who will eagerly shell out some coin for a genuine whichamicallit sling. I even involve my wife in the process, packaging and shiping the items. I then let her keep the proceeds. It works every time. I do it a few times per year. One time it worked so well she gave me money to take to the show. |

| Since my wife passed away I am stockpiling guns now at a fair rate. Three rifles and one pistol so far. I figure that if I ever 'hook up' again I will be way ahead of the game. My daughter is getting concerned as there is no one to stop me LOL. I am looking for a rich widow with a motor home, fishing boat and her husbands gun collection. Please send pictures of the gun collection and a list of make and caliber.
