In safe dehumidifiers

I am considering a 110 v, plug-in dehumidifier... my concern is where does the humidity go in a sealed safe ??? Bob

goldenrod, a good purchase. they dont actually remove humidity, but control it by slightly warming the air inside the safe.

And remember, if your safe doesn't have an opening in it already for the cord to plug it in, you'll have to put one in it.
The 450gram silica boxes with the recharge indicators on them work great. Just put them in the oven to recharge. I had one box in my safe, found I was recharging it every 60-90 days needing it or not. Just bought 2 more boxes and now hoping 90-120 days before recharging needed, if not even longer then that now?

I didn't go the rod route because I didn't have the hole in the safe for the cord and really didn't want to go putting a hole in it. My preference. Just didn't know if doing that would effect the fire rating or time it's suppose to hold up, is/was the main reason.

I have a tin of Damprid in my safe. As the moisture collects in the bottom i empty out the water and refil the top container with new product.

I've had a golden rod in my safe for about 20 years now (same one) and it works great. I live in a very humid and salty area and have never had any of my guns rust while in the safe. my safe is a cheapo one and I can close the cord in the door without having to drill a hole.
