| .17hmr results i took my .17 chuck hunting today but the chucks were not active, just before i left i saw a black bird about 100 yards out so i figured y not, aimed at the belly, went out to check were i hit...hit the belly dead on! i turned back and saw another one about 60 yards away and hit it dead on as well... gun shoots very flat and very accurate.

| tippmann7; I know where you're coming from!!! When I bought my 17HMR (a Marlin 17VLS) a few years ago, I had it sighted in for 50 yards for squirrel hunting, when I happened upon a field full of crows. I sighted on a crow that I estimated was in excess of 100 yards (turned out to be 130 yards) and touched one off.....and hit the crow dead on!!! Couldn't believe the 17HMR shot that flat!!! And I've had repeated occurrences since then, with the same results! That little 17 shoots like a stretched rubber band and will pack the gear! |

| I think it's a great little cartridge. I don't have a rifle in it but I bought one a Taurus Tracker in with 6" barrel, 7 rounds in the .17. Just wish the ammo would come down a little. Now it looks as if they;ll all be going up. GRRRRRRRRRR. But yea, I threw a NC STAR DB4 red dot on it and what a great little plinker.
