also the 7.62Nato/.308 Winchester has the punch that the .223 lacks and if I remember correctly is superior to the 7.62x39 because it is a much more consistant round than the soviet counterpart and the rifle itself has an effective range of out to 600 yards versus the M16 at 200 yards or Ak-47 at around 150 yards.

I don't know what you mean by "more consistent" round. The .308 is much more powerful than the 7.62x39 with a 60gr heavier bullet and 600fps muzzle velocity, it has 80% more energy at the muzzle. The two are not even comparable.

As for the M-16 and the 5.56 NATO, according to the military, has a maximum effective range of 550 meters. That's a greater effective range than the 7.62x39.

Yes I said they are ugly. I also like the remington 700. Some guys like red heads some like blonds, and neither is wrong. I like AK's and AR's as well as fine hunting platforms.

If you care to, you'll see that I'd moved on to a substantive discussion. meatloaf thought he needed to call me a "sphincter hole", so I gave it back. Again, I'll post where I like. Anybody else wants to "beat on me" as meatloaf likes to call it for expressing a solicited opinion, I'll be glad to discuss it with them as long as they want. If they want to move past my dislike for the MN's like I had tried to do, then I'm willing to go that route too. It matters not to me.

I guess it was whats the big deal with Mosins. Looks like some love them and some hate them. Some just like them and some dislike them. Some are curious about them. Some aren't. Some are trying to prove a point bad or good about Mosin-Nagant rifles. And some are out to insult each other. Think that about sums this thread up.

Well, just so you know, nobody on the net is capable of hurting my feelings. If you can let someone you dont even know on the net "hurt your feelings" then you are a bit too touchy. It's a tired and age old internet tactic to throw out the accusation that someone got their feelings hurt, or that someone hit a nerve, etc etc. That's juvenile, and the people that make such accusations come away with some false sense of 'having won' if they think they've "hurt some feelings". I don't get it really. With all the sniveling and whining from those that seem to have gotten their feelings hurt by my comments, or the way I made my somments about MN's, I fail to see how you could think I got my feelings hurt, but I'm sure it makes you feel superior to throw that out there.
