Kel-tec sub 2000 ---Cool looking piece of work!

I saw the kel tec sub 2000 for the first time the other day. That is one neat looking gun! It folds up so small you could almost fit it into a briefcase.

Anyone know anything about these??

I've read reviews going both ways. The general decision is: The gun is decent, but not the best... I'm planning on getting one to pair with my Beretta 92.

I've looked into getting one and may still do so. I like it can take Glock, Beretta or Sig mags, depending on the model you get.

I have heard the accuracy isn't all that great, due to the way it's constructed, but I don't think that's really the point. I see it as a way to extend the range of a pistol round, especially the .40S&W which is a high pressure round and would benefit from the longer barrel. A carbine like that is the good half-way point between an easily carried pistol and a cumbersome rifle.

have one in the .40, they are ok. Not the greatest trigger out there but hey I kinda expected it that way, am not the biggest semi fan out there. they are some what accurate but I feel the sights are crude but very suffucient.

I have TWO...one in 9mm and another in 40. I mounted a scope on the 40 (you can get a scope mount kit) and a laser on the 9mm (you can get a picatinny mount for the front bottom end of the hand guards).

I shoot the 9mm more just because the ammo is cheaper. Both are about a accurate as I need. My brother and I had a pretty good time shooting dueling post at 50 yards with the stock sights. I also like to take it to the pond and pop the turtles.

My brother liked mine so much, he talked me into to getting him one for a Christmas gift. They are well worth the money in my opinion.

The Sub2000 is a very specialised gun, for certain specific useage - it doesn't fit everybody.
I personally consider it an absolute abomination - but that is just my experience based on handling and shooting my buddy's gun. If you are a taller person - it is far too short for comfort! Even my buddy, short little guy that he is, admits it's too short for him.
Putting a scope or optical sight on takes away it's one interesting feature - the folding.
The iron sights are horrid - plastic and easily damaged when trying to adjust!

On the other hand, it is reliable and shoots any ammo we put through it.

He has a .40 High-Point carbine now that he likes better.

As far as the scope...the scope swings to the side...and the gun still folds.

I have a Hi-Point in 40 as well. Initially, I liked it better becasue of the "fit" (I'm 6'3), but the accuracy of the Kel-tec made me learn how to hold it better.
