Well Killer doesnt matter what the law states. Gander Mountain has their own rules. So if you want to check just go to the one nearest to you and they will tell you what I told you. What are you going ot do anyway? Sue em cus they wont give you your firearm in 3 days?

Day 6 and no response from NICS.

I did at least get good news by the gun dealer (and you were right on the money Capt'n Mil Coll about Gander Mountain) their policy is after 7 days I can pick it up. I tried to research Minnesota State law and did run across some 7 day waits for pistols being possible but nothing about long guns. So I'm not sure what Minnesota law they believe they are accurately following.

Anyway they said on the 8th day I can have the sportorized 91/30 so that's the good news. The guy told me they frequently have no response from NICS period.

I'll post pictures. Maybe the delay was good, I was tossed between a NEF .44 mag Handi-rifle I saw too and I definitely made up my mind during the wait. I'm getting them both...no just kidding...the Nagant for now. Number 3...

Ya Killer I saw that 7 day waiting period for handguns on the brady BS website. It is not correct. A 01 FFL holder in MN can only sell a handgun to a PPCard Holder. There is no 7 day anywhere in MN. There are exceptions like selling to C&R and other FFL holders. But no exception to the general public.

I work in a gun store here in colorado, and to be honest it depends on how many people are buying guns at that time. In the mornings response is 15 to 20 mins, and in the afternoon its 40 to 50 mins. At gun shows it goes from 20 min to 2 hours by lunch time.

I stand by my comment of NICS being a typical Govt office:

Walk into any Govt office and scan the room, half are not at their desk, those that are at their desk...half are surfing the Internet and the rest are on the phone with a family member. The manager is at a productivity workshop.
Having previously held a top secret clearance, I found it very odd that it took up to 24hrs to be approved, shortly after my retirement. The cause..... the marker showing I had been investigated for said clearance, plus the fact I no longer HAD one. All my checks are complete in 5 mins now. It may have something to do with the fact my FFL holder uses the internet, not the phone.
