Smile marlin XL7 vs. Mossberg model 100 ATR

Hey guys, what do yall think about the new marlin XL7, it comes in .25-06, .270 and .30-06 but so does the 100 ATR. The rifle I would buy would be a .30-06, for a good all around hunting rifle. Both come in camo and both are about 300 dollars. So which one would you buy?

Flip a coin, I think that either would be a good reliable hunting rifle.

No first hand experience here, but I've read nothing but good things about the Marlin. They liked the feel and finish and the new trigger as well. I'm considering an XL7 in 25/06 for myself. Good Luck.

Well I have a .30-06 ATR Mossberg and its a good accurate rifle. But I've heard good things about the Marlin. I guess both would be good.

What about the cheap model Remington ( 770 or 710 ? ) ? How does it differ from the 700 ?

God bless

I would be happy with either one but if I find enough money I plan to get the Marlin in 25-06.

Don't go with a 770. They are known for being crappy.

I think that the Marlin is a tad better. Not sure.

Crappy , in what way ? How do they differ from the 700 ?

Only Remington I own is a 788 in .308 Winny .

I own 3 Winny lever guns and 5 Marlin Lever guns . No experience with Marlin bolt guns .

Only Mossy I own is a 12 gauge .

God bless

They certainly are different for a 700. I've heard to much bad things about one to put one on my rack. That marlin is a nice gun.
