| My used Mini 30: has not jammed, except trying to use the three junk aftermarket mags which came with the otherwise really good rifle. None with the Ruger factory "micro-mag". And three mis-fires out of 300+ usung only Wolf rounds. The used Mini 14: three misfeeds with the factory mag, only on the first day. None later and none with plastic Promag (30-rd.) No mis-fires with about 300 rounds of only Wolf .223. It makes no difference to me what groups people get at 100 yards. My floating targets only go out about 70 feet. And few self-defense scenarios exceed 50 yards anyway in a civilian setting. SKS: so far perfect. MN 44: perfect. If I had to be in a firefight at a close distance after a natural disaster, someday taking a carbine on the car seat into town (am a civilian since '83 with no combat tng.), give me a Russian-designed rifle, or a Ruger Mini with the best magazines. Why 'beat around the bush' about reliability (only use iron sights) when we live just outside a city and own no land? Last edited by Laufer; 07-21-2008 at 03:56 AM. |

| Senior Member | I've seen a couple of weapons jam due to the shooter "Limp-wristing" their weapon. Keeping a proper grip can make all the difference in the world.

| Come to think about it, Had a Saiga in 223 (AK) and one in 308. both jammed on milsurp 556 and 762, worked fine with Wolf and 223 and 308 respectively.

| I bought a new Browning HP in 1970 for $135.00. I have never experienced any kind of malfunction. |

| My bushmaster Ar-15 has been flawless. My dad's Olympic Ar has been just the opposite. I apparently got a dud SA 1911. My Taurus 1911 has been flawless, SA XD has been flawless, I had a ruger P-- semi auto that I never cleaned and never had a single problem with it. My Glock 10mm has had one FTE, which led to a double feed from hell. I acutally have had two very serious hang-ups with my marlin 444xlr. Two times it has completely hung up, and has been very difficult to fix. Real PITa. |
