I provided information, did I not?

I thought I was being fair in sending something Via PM, but apparently that means nothing to you!
Now, please show me that anything I have stated is incorrect! I'd suppose that you can NOT and choose to be a moron. Now, simply show me anything that disputes anything I have stated, and everyone will be fine!

I just wanted everyone to know what kind of person we are dealing with, a very bitter, and angry person. I showed information that debunks your notion that the .270 outperforms the .300 Win Mag, have you been overlooking it? must you resort to name calling?

Turner...I believe you found a Misprint... Here is the Info from Hornady and some of the numbers dont match...
http:///www.hornady.com/media/Light_...y_Mag_Ammo.pdf
I compared all the ballistics in the Hornady files and the Hornady Reloading handbook...
At 400 Yards the .270 with 140 gr BTSP LM is 2349 fps w/ energy at 1715 lbs.
The .308 with a 165 BTSP LM is 2087 fps and energy at 1595 at 400
The .300with the 180 SPHM similar bullet is 2251 fps and 2025 lbs energy.
The .300 with a 168 BTHP hornady bullet is 2499 fps and 2330 Lbs.Energy at 400 yards...
So it boils down to the .270 with the NEW hornady bullet will be faster than the .300 at 400 Yards but still have 310 lbs less energy. But the 300 with a 168gr. is 150 fps faster with 615 lbs of energy at 400 yards...
The .308 still does NOT beat the .300 Either.
All Data is from Hornady and In print by them....
What part of Belted Magnum don't you understand ????

thats good!
recoil doesn't bother me much either.
a well designed rifle will negate much of the OW! factor.
and lucky for us most rifles are well designed.

Sorry guys my dislexia kicked in it was a 260 cal not 270. I left the mag at the gun shop or i would state what it printed. What i dont understand is if it has more power of footpounds at longer distances then why is it not in more use? I beive the mag said it had 50 pounds more then the 300mag.

Lets look at Speers Data.
.270 with 150 grain bullet....average MV of 2750fps...200 yard energy = 2000
.300 with 150 grain Bullet...average MV of 3200 fps...200 yard energy=2500
So the .300 has 25% more energy at 200 yards. Now the .270 will drop 8 inches at 200 where the .300 will drop 6 inches at 200 yards.
At 400 yards the .270 will be traveling at 2077 fps and will drop 29.5 inches
at 400 yards the .300 will be traveling at 2311 fps and will drop 22 .3 inches
The difference in .270 energy at 400 yards is 33% less than the .300.

it was out of the treasure iddition for 2007. The best of the best articles for that year.
