Yesterday, I woke up to my brother shaking me and telling be to wake up because we're going shooting today. Of course, I get instantly... I grab a bite to eat, I look around the house for things to blow up... Rotten fruit, already shot up boards of wood, actual targets, cans, ect... I load all of those up in the truck, then I clean and oil my guns nicely, load 'em up, and then we're off... About 20 minutes later, as soon as we get there, my brother asked "So who's got the ammo?" ... And then we drive all the way back. We grab the ammo... Get back in the truck... And as soon as we're pulling out of the drive way... The truck dies. So much for going shooting.Don't be like me. Remember all the stuff that you're supposed to take with you. Especially when you're driving 20+ minutes away... |

This gives me a chuckle. I remember the times that I forgot important stuff only to have to return or improvise. Favorite thing to forget...ear muffs. Won't load a rifle with out them. Shot a lot with tissue stuck in my ears. One time I couldn't get the tissue out and had to go to the doctor to get it out. They laughed and laughed at my folly. So did I. We all knew that was better than hearing damage. Then there was the time I went way out in the boonies on a white tail hunt....only to find that I brought the wrong ammo. I was shooting 220 swift and the ammo was hard to find at the time. No game for me. ![]() I do feel for you. The fact that the truck died on you is not fair. I hope you get back out there soon!

not long ago I drove 1 1/2 hrs to my range only to find that the coast guard had it closed for their use. the bixxh is that they can use the navy range and civilians can't but they want to use our range. I hope the club makes a lot of money off them for their use of the range. now I am sure to check before I go.

I too have went to the range, only to find out I had forgotten ammo !! Seeing as how a bunch of friends were there I went out to the line and set up as usual. I pretended to load the rifle and yelled KA-BOOM while recoiling from the kick. I jacked in another round and KA-BOOM !! 4 rounds later they figured it out and were laughing their @$$ off at me !! My best friend now calls me the Mosin Mime.....
