American Pawn in Thomasville is a pretty decent place. Its where I found my Mosin Nagant M1891, and last I checked has a nice Springfield. They tend to get some nice Milsurp and reproduction Military guns in, as well as the usual stuff.

Jerry's sport shop in Ambrose Ga. all the long guns are on the floor so you can pickem all up. Good price's and good folks, I could spend hours in that store.

I've patronized Tucker Gun in Tucker, Nick's in Marietta/Kennesaw, The Firing Lane in Bogart, Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna, and Clydes Armory in Bogart. All of the experiences have been positive but you need to have an idea of what you want is worth to avoid paying too much.

I live in Gwinnett, and really like Bullseye in Lawrenceville or Tucker Gun. Both of these have been said. I have been to almost every other one listed from Marietta to Athens, and think they're more expensive than Bullseye or Tucker. I would first figure out exactly what you want, call or visit a shop or two, and then also call Bass Pro Shops. Fact is, once you know what you want, the guy behind the counter doesn't really need to know crap to get you the gun. Another thought - have you thought of the Taurus .38? I have one with the laser grip. Great gun, a little cheaper than the Smith, and lifetime warranty. Also, call around on the laser grip. Cheapest is online - about $250, but Bullseye sells them for around $279, depending on the exact model. Cheapest I've found local by $20. |
