| Thak you Jesse...Think Ill try the Taurus especialy since I put 1/2 down on it already....give IDPA a shot then go from there. Kinda silly ?? Jesse and not a put down for glocks...not trying to start a flam war....but that sounds like a lot of time, $$ and mdafacations to make to a brand new .....high quality....firearm to make it safe to shoot lead bullets....and to avoide KB's.....I guess my fuzzly little brain cell keeps thining.....if I get a cheap gun say a $50 mosin-Nagant and it needs more than a new fireing pin&/or spring....then I send it back or consider it a wall hanger and strip it for parts.....in my mind if a gun aint safe too shoot when I get it (except parts guns I intentionaly order)......then it's not what I ordered and send it back and get a refund......seems to me that a $500-600 firearm should be safe to shoot out of the box (after cleaning of course)...but If you need to replace parts on a new gun to make it safe...well that just dont seem right.....even if KB's (ka-booms) are not common but replace the parts to be safe.....the the price of the gun is the price+replacement parts+gunsmith charges+my time..... If a new glock needs that much work and $$ to make it safe even for shooting cast lead.....then its too much hassel for me....Ill go with a CZ-100 or other such brand....also seems like that many changes would void the warrenty(meaning In my mind Im buying an as is gun...no warrenty....and $500+ is a little high for an as is new pistol too me).....finaly..the brass killing part would be a negitive thing for me since brass cost are a major expense in reloading.....it it destroys the brass then Im back to factory ammo....and even $10 per box of 9mm adds up qucikly compared to relaods....especialy IF I stick to my plan of 2 days aweek practing....thats $40 per week vs $12 for ammo......10 weeks and I paid for the Taurus (Reload cost based on home casted bullets vs wal-mart 9mm ammo). |

| Wow Jesse......I've never heard that about brass fired from a Glock. Kinda bothers me though since I have literally thousands of rounds of brass saved from the police range........

| break the bank to buy a gun and you can't afford to buy bullets for it so you figure you'll just cast you'er own but then you run into a snag and find out that the million dollar gun won't shoot the ammo 1... cry like a baby and give them you'er credit card number for the new part and wait for it to come in 2...cry like a baby and give them you'er credit card number for the part then go and shoot the rest of the ammo threw you'er high point and drink a few beers on the way home and consider it a lesson learned just messin with you guy's |

| Using an aftermarket barrel does away with all the lead bullets/oversized case problems. My brother and I both own Glock 30s. They are really fine handguns and their shortcomings are easily rectified. Glock is the only handgun I have found that rivals the 1911 in parts availibility.
