Not interchangeable

A while back, I remember a thread where the discusion centered on swaping bbl from a full size frame ex. G22 with the compact frame ex. G23, and the consensus was that it can be done but the longer barrel would extend from the front of the slide on the compact frame.

I tried this last week and I can report that it can't be done, the configuration of both frames is diferent in the aspect that the locking block and pins are in a diferent location in each frame.

The configuration of the bbls is diferent due to this.

I don't know if the compact frame and the subcompact frame have the same diference, I'll look into it next time at the range and report to you my findings.

If you are getting a new bbl for your gun, make sure that you get or order the apropiate bbl for the correct model.

I beleive you are correct Mandy. The barrel "lock up" on the G23 should be slightly smaller than that of the G22.

Although you can take the barrel of the 40SW long slide Glock and put it in the G22 just fine.

The Glock 23 and 27 barrels are interchangeable.

I had a similar experience with a Glock 21 and 30 barrel swap that did not work.

You can get a reasonably priced repacement barrel from www.norecoil.com ... EFK Firedragon. I have several for the Glock and they work great! If you really want a primo barrel... www.barsto.com . I have an order on the way from them and will report the results!
