A Glock pistol, won't fire unless the trigger is pulled due to the fact that it has 3 safeties.
First the trigger safety, it prevents the trigger from traveling back inside the trigger guard.
Second is the drop safety, it prevents the striker from being released from the trigger bar.
Third the firing pin safety or plunger, it prevents the firing pin from reaching the breach until the plunger is depresed.
You can bang a glock like a hammer, drop it, kick it, throw it to the floor or walls and the only way it will fire is when the trigger is pulled by a finger or similar item inside the trigger guard.
In my opinion is a very well thought mechanism and the kicker is all 3 safeties will disengage secuentialy when the trigger is pulled.
This agent prooved that slight overconfidence or negligence can cause a fatality when handling a fiream.
If someone is not prepared to accept the responsability of handling a firearm correctly, then shouldn't handle one for sure.
Anyone can have an accident, but when demostrating the correct use of a firearm, it should be unloaded and the ammo segregated from the gun.
