glock 19 once it arrives. just paid for it today, being sent priority mail. the waiting is the worst part. I chose the 9mm because it seems to be the only to not have any major problem. I am sure veryperson has had some problem with some firearm or other. I have 2 taurus and absolutly love them, but there seems to be a taurus haters club. I myself do not care for sig, I had a sig moskito and it had had feed problems on almost every mag, I got rid of it and thought mabey I had just got hold of a bad one, but recently took NRA home defence course and we were at a range limited to 22lr and on of the guns on loan was the sig moskito and sure enough out of the 5 guns availible it was the only one with feed problems. the others availible were 2 walthers, a ruger and one i do not know the make but it looked like a 1911 but in 22lr. so it just goes to show there are good and bad in all things.

Why has no one said USP compact. I am working on getting one in .45 or .40. Too many horror stories about 9mm not stopping an attacker, can't really trust it anymore. I think i am going with a .45. Even though there is less mag capacity, it wont take as many shots.

I prefer the 23. It's very concealable, light and it packs a whollop.

Just get a modern Gen 3 G22/23/27 and pre-ban magazines. Don't need a pre-ban Gen 1 or 2 to use pre-ban "high-cap" mags.

I finally got my model 27. It's a great gun. My gf has a model 26. I can't seem to chat this gun up enough. As far as problems with Glock I have never seen one fail. I am not saying it doesn't happen. It happens with almost every make and model of firearm. I talked to a guy about the XD and the USP but he said for the money he would rather have the Glock and that is coming from someone who owns all three.

Excellent pickup there, GoodAim! I love mine!

Now, just pick up some G22 15rd mags with A&G magazine grip extensions to make them fit flush.

Sorry, but I'm gonna have to call BS on every point of the above statement. The upper simply does not fall apart, the back plate has to be removed, and it's locked under spring tention. Of the nearly 5 million handguns Glock has made there will be some lemons, but 99% have worked rather exceptionally. If anything they are boringly reliable.
And TheGunZone is notoriously anti-Glock

I suppose because there High priced and Imported is why some folks don't like Glocks.
Theres 2 different models of Glocks in my house right now that belong to my son. I like them and have shot them and there excellent guns and probably the best you can buy right now.
But I wouldn't buy one, theres other brands I like.
That Sheriff's problem is 1 in a million probably.
The more I look at the CZ 75 40S&W Compac and the Browning Hi-Power 9mm the more I want one of them.
And in my oppinion the Glock 23 should of been in that poll... ...A.H

Well, you'll find that the GLOCK forum is rather quiet... yano, no one saying "so, I have this problem..." *chuckle*

There are just as many that either like 'em and/or own 'em on here.

Yea I don't hear alot about them needing attention all that often. That has alot to do with why both me and my GF have one.

Well, like "just a car" said - you typically find that people love em or hate them. I personally am in the "Love em" camp. I own 5 and have never had a problem with any of them. As someone said earlier they are kinda boring sometimes. Pull the trigger - it goes bang and the bullet hits where you were aiming. I guess I can see where that wouldn't appeal to some people - I guess they like the thrill and excitement of wondering if their pistol is going to fire, jam or send the bullet around the corner. I would speculate 99% of the KB's out there resulted from firing lead bullets (which everybody and their brother will tell you is a bad idea in a glock) or from improper reloading.
As to the original question, I carry a Glock 27 with Hannie straight 8 night sights. An added benifit is that G-22 15 round mags will work fine in the G-27. I carry one as my spare mag sometimes - sure it sticks out the bottom of the grip, but it works fine.
