The beretta 92 FS Police Special is the most accurate 9mm I've shot. Wouldn't own a Glock, I like to hit what I'm shooting at. I have a cousin who carries one on duty, he says he cant afford to buy a more accurate pistol.

Seriously? Gunbroker has the Beretta M9 for $479.00 brand new. I don't think Beretta are over priced, but there are better guns out there for the money.

| The 9mm’s that I favor are the SIG 226 and CZ-75. The SIG is a great gun, but bulky and expensive. The CZ is also a great gun and much more cost effective. |

Absolutely nothing wrong with a Hi-Power, in either of it's Browning or FN flavors. I have an FN in 9mm, and a Sig P229 in 40S&W/357 SIG. I love them both.

In my state it's around 500 for a Beretta used and 400 for a Glock used and a Browning or a Sig 600 to 800, you would be lucky if you could find a one for 500.

That's why I don't shop at gunshops...rarely at least. They can't compete with the market when you use the internet to make it a national market.

most local gun shops will do an FFL transfer here it cost about 25 bucks. Then you can order from where ever you want.

The 5 Glocks I own shoot as accurately or better than any other pistol I have owned (except for my Kimber 1911). And I have went through a bunch of others.
I think Dave Sevigny would likely disagree with you as well - see this link LATEST UPDATES SEVIGNY .
Of course what does he know? He just won the USPSA Production Gun National with his Glock 34.
I don't remember to many Beretta 92's in the competition (I don't think the army marksmanship team even use them). Although, I am not putting down on the Beretta - it is a good pistol. I have to admit it is a "pretty" pistol.
I Don't mean to come down hard on ya, I just hate it when someone post third-hand information as the gospel truth on one of these sites. It can and likely does misdirect people from the truth. Before bashing a particular gun, please at least have first hand knowledge of it.
I understand some dislike Glocks, and there is nothing wrong with that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, But, lets try to keep the facts straight, and separate opinion and hearsay from facts.

I agree SilverRun. Glocks are an incredible firearm. I just don't like the way they feel. If they could put a 1911 style grip on them, I would probably be in love.
I've never fired the Beretta 92, but I've always liked how it looks.

I've never fired the Beretta 92, but I've always liked how it looks. | I think the grip angle is the complaint I hear most often. I think there is merit to that criticism. The grip angle is defiantly different than a traditional 1911. Your right, it is all in what you like and get used to.
You may want to check out the Springfield XD pistols. Almost as good as a Glock and it has a grip angle very similar to the 1911. Seriously, the XD is a fine pistol and is likely the equal of the Glock (and that is from a Glock guy). I kinda like the grip safety, but really hate the loaded chamber indicator sticking up on top of the slide. I had an XD-40, but ended up giving it my father-in-law (long story - lets not bring up painful memories). It was a fine pistol. |

i agree with the glock statements about being accurate, sort of. while glocks are physically accurate pistols, they dont shoot easily for everyone. my own G34 is an accurate pistol, but i have to work very hard to shoot it well. for me the ergonomics are all wrong.

I have a tendency to buy larger caliber guns that have a barrel longer than 5 inches, just my opinion but I think it reduces recoil alot.
