| Glock 22 or 23? Any one have any opinions on which is the better handgun for concealed carry or open carry? I am looking for a Glock .40 cal. I like the look of the 22 and 23, with the 23 being my first choice. Before I unload a bunch of money I need some pros and cons. Thanks! |

| Can't go wrong with a .40, the rest is purely comfort. |

| I have one of all the Glock .40's (except the G-24 - which I don't really have a need for now). I think the G-23 is the best all-round pistol of the group. The G-35 is too big to carry concealed. The G-22 would work, but is still a little big. The G-27 is what I carry, but is not as comfortable to shoot as the G-23. The G-23 will carry pretty well and is comfortable to shoot. By the way, the G-23C that I have was my first Glock. I still have it and don't plan on parting with it any time soon. |

| good choice fireguy86: Sir; to tough of a question In reality I carry either the G17 or the G22 same everything except the caliber. Am able to change and not have a sight problem. The .40 is more expensive to shoot, but you will enjoy the banging. I do alot of reading: most say the .40 want come back [sight picture] as quickly as 9mm-.45's. In my mind I'm as quick with one as the other. We ?compete? speed shooting; can't tell a difference .

| I have a 23. Love that pistol. It is my everyday carry gun and I shoot it in IDPA. All the Glocks are great weapons, the 23 /19 are just compact enough without getting too midgetized. Last edited by dscrick; 01-11-2008 at 02:27 PM. Reason: spelling error |

| 1" longer barrel and 1" longer grip is the only difference

| I would like to stick with the .40 cal. .45 is a little slow for my liking not to mention a little more pricier. A 9 mm is fast, cheap, but doesnt have the stopping power I require. I am hearing 23 is the majority. Any idea what one would cost new? I have had prices anywhere from $500-$700. I am still open to other models tho! Thanks all. |

| I use my G27 for both CC and OC in my Blackhawk SERPA CQC holster (works great for both). To address the issues of the discomfort caused by not having a place to put your pinky on the grip, I have Pearce +1 grip extension mag floorplates, which also allows me to carry a tenth round in the normally 9 round mags. You'd be surprised how much difference they make to how the gun shoots. Overall, it's really a matter of personal preference. Go to a range and rent all of them and find out what you like best. If concealment is one of your biggest issues, definitely think of the G27 followed by the G23 and don't forget to try the G27 with a grip extension so that you aren't biased towards the others due to the discomfort.
