| Has anybody noticed... ...that a glock will auto release the slide if you slam the magazine home with any level of authority??? I thought this was a fluke or a failure on my G23 until I talked to several others. This is GREAT for a shooter, BAD for a beginner. I happened to notice it while instructing a brand spaking newbie... not good. It makes for outrageous mag change times for shooters, presents a major problem to novices. I will never recomend another glock to a newbie... |

| Yeah, it was mentioned on here a few times and I tried it at the range with my G27. Got it to work about 3/5 times... not fool-proof, but handy if you need to do a tactical reload and need extra fractions of a second. As for getting a GLOCK for a newbie, I agree. I would recommend a .22lr for a newbie. It gets them used to the basic functions of a pistol without having to worry too much about recoil or muzzle blast yet. I made the mistake once of letting a newbie shoot my G27 and it was just too much gun. I will never make that mistake again... when I take newbies, I let them try a .22lr and the last one used to be anti-gun as brought up by his parents. He loved shooting the 50 rounds of .22lr so much that he went back to the counter to buy another 100 rounds!
