| 9mm or .357sig ??? I am thinking of buying a new barrel for my G23. Should I buy a 9 or a .357??? ![]()

| .357sig If you buy the 9mm barrel isn't there more involved? I think you have to at least buy 9mm mags. But if you go the 357sig route, you can use your stock 40 mags. I think thats how it goes.

| Senior Member | here's the Fly in that ointment. If you go to the .357 SIG, it WILL cause major wear due to the higher pressures involved. The G23 .40 is not made to handle the stress and over time will eventually be likely to have a catastrophic failure. Just because you can do it isn't a good reason TO do it I'd actually suggest purchasing a Glock 31 or 32 if you really want to use the .357SIG round. Hrm...what is the reasoning behind the change?? If you just want more power than the .40 Short & Wimpy the Glock 20 will give it to ya...but you'll be doing a lot of reloading...them rounds ain't cheap |
