| Senior Member | Blue Wonder Gun Blue I Saw This Stuff Advertised At My Local Large Sporting Goods Store They Had A Demo Tape About It. I Wanted To Redo The Finish On The Front And Rear Barrel Bands Of My K-31 Swiss And The But Plate. I Picked Up The Small Kit 1-oz. Size. I Used A Buffing Wheel To Remove What Was Left Of The Old Bluing Then Applied The Cleaner In The Kit Let It Set Then Wiped It Off. Next Another Coat Of Cleaner Is Applied And Heated With A Torch To About 130 Degrees This Cleans The Pores In The Metal.this Is Wiped Off And The Bluing Solution Is Applied. The Instructions Say To Use A Paper Towl Or Clean Rag But I Found A Small Paint Brush Artist Type Works Great. Once The First Coat Dries You Apply The Second Be Sure To Keep The Metal Warm I Like A Torch But The Little Womans Hair Dryer Will Do The Job Too [just Don't Get Caught} This Stuff Dosn't Need A Lot Of Heat If It Sizzles And Smokes It's Too Hot. Repeat The Process Untill You Get The Desired Shade Then Brush On The Developer This Sets The Blue And Darkens It. Let It Set For 6-8 Hours Then Wipe It With Gun Oil And Your Good To Go It Worked Great I Think I'll Try It On My Makarov Next. |
