Duracoat

So has anyone duracoated a pistol for their lady? My wife saw a pink taurus at Gander Mountain and wont let it go. Im thinking about getting her a used Bersa or Kel-tec and painting it for her.

or

if you have used duracoat for your own gun how hard was it to do and how has it held up.

I think the slide would be easy to paint but Im a little worried about taking the gun full apart to paint the frame. I can probably get it apart but the task would be putting it back together so that it functions how hard do you think it would be?

Yeah i think they look pretty good, but its hard to tell without seeing them in person. how hard is it to strip one down to nothing but the frame and get it back together? The furtherist i have taken one apart is for basic cleaning but never messed with the internals?

Unfortunately, ander, I'm not able to help you there. I've never even handled a Kel-tec or Bersa handgun, much less stripped it down.

I'm sure there are some how-to guides on doing such on the net. Just do a google search on "Kel-tec [model] disassembly"... substituting Bersa and the model as applicable.

I find there's usually quite a few guides and some are better than others... I personally prefer ones with pictures so I know I'm doing it right.

she has actually seen that but really wants a semi-auto but wouldnt that make my life a lot easier

just as information for others. CCR has a pistol on their samples page done up in black and purple. I emailed them and they quoted "The cost to refinish a Bersa is $149.00 complete with one mag and the cost to refinish a Keltec P3AT or P32 is $119.00 complete with one mag". Not a bad price for someone else to hassle with it. Just not to sure how much shipping it would be (bet you have to use overnight shipping).

I actually thought about getting her this. GunBroker.com guns: Mossberg Model 500 PINK “Hot Lips” Cruiser (item: 94520516 ends: Mar-20-08 0305 PM)

pretty sweet aint it
