Bases for a Mod 98

I have a new sporterized 98 enroute to me that has not been tapped for scope mounts. Can someone recommend some that would work well. I prefer 2 piece mounts and am partial to Weaver type angle lock bases and Warne Maxima rings, but I am open to suggestions from people in the know. Thanks.

If you go to midwayusa web site you can find all kinds of mounts. The onepiece bases make it easier to drill and tap properly. The one piece also gives a mauser action a little more strength.I personally like dovetail better than Weaver.More ridgid. sam.

if the stripper clip guide is still on the rifle, a one piece base is a better option.

I have looked at a Midway catalogue and it seems there is only one 1 piece Weaver (angle lock) type base, and it's aluminum. There is a Weaver Grand Slam base that's steel but 2 piece. Should I insist on steel over aliminum..... The idea of the 1 piece mount adding rigidity hadn't entered my mind... And I see no QD dovetail/turnin bases and mounts for a 98. Thanks again for the good info.
