Hmmm, did you use a piece of stainless steel flat wear from like a knife for the bolt handle. Chuckle, I did when coming up with a so called butter knife handle for mauser sporter.

Is it your main hunting rifle? I got 2 .308 rifles I use. A 40x and a 1916 model Spanish Mauser.

It will be after it's finished. Hoping for 3/8" groups.
That heavy barrel will help accuracy, with 10 rounds.
It's topped with a Shooters Edge 4x16x40. Cross hairs.
The stock is heavy and will last forever. 2 point sling.
The AR-10 is more accurate right now and lighter!

Bob, that is a mighty nice looking rifle! I am surprised Bowers let you put a synthetic stock on it! LOL!

Thanks. One of these days he'll get another chance with a 6mm Rem or 257 Roberts, although I prefer an oil finish vs. the high gloss. We'll see.

I just love the feel of the Hogue in the hand and I don't worry at all about beating it up in the field. It was out with me this morning, BTW. Here's some pics of where I was.
