Rich I'm going to be serious just for a minute. Your build looks outstanding.
When we talked last, on the telephone I asked how you would fasten the rivets.

When you explained you had very few options but would probable do it by hand.

To me it seemed a true craftsman could only do that and you "Sir" have just proved that you are a Craftsman.

I personaly would never ever attemp to do the kind of build your doing simply because of the risk's involved but safty being the most important concern.

I can honestly say...Good Job, No GREAT JOB !!! Keep it up and I'm proud of you !

Thanks Mike !
I had to improvise a bucking bar setup to back those rivets up or it would have gone faster, but it is going pretty good . I decided to dome the rivets that didnt need to be flush for added strength like the Early models were made. The 2 large rivets and the Last small one all have to be flush when I get done with them and tight..

I noticed the Domed rivets and I swear I thought why does'nt he leave those because they actually look appropreit. The pictures did show some rivets you did file down, they looked good to.
If it were me I'd leave them domed if they did'nt interfear with the operation's of the gun.

Your on the right track Moosey <thats funny...LOL

Nice job!

Couple of questions.

What did you use for the finish?

Did you get the head space & timing set?

When are you coming over?
You bring the fun gun, tripod, and ammo.
And I will provide the coffee, range, targets, & trigger finger !!!

Hey now:
Is that a Marlin lever action rifle, your hiding from me? (picture # 2)

The finish is a spray on Coating that resembles Green Parkerize...
I got the Headspaceing set and ready to test fire.(Timing not needed for Semi-auto)
I don't know , but I will come over...When it warms up !
You better grill me a steak too...LOL
That is A Marlin Bolt action .17 HMR Box...Not a Lever gun.
