| H & R Ultra Automatic
I recently bought a H & R Ultra Automatic Model 360 in .308. The overall condition is excellent. It shoots well grouping consistently 1 1/2 " at 100 yards with Hornady 150 gr BT polymer tips. This I can probably fine tune to a bit smaller. Has anyone any experience with this rifle? I can find very little information about it. I remember seeing one before at a Gunshop in 1967 or so. The rifle is very light, sleek, well balanced, and it appears well made. The scope mount is not as secure a system as I would prefer but so far it has not given me any trouble. The only source of information I've found about it refers to the H&R 360 as having a rotary locking bolt. This is definitely not the case. The bolt unlocks by moving slightly sideways and to the rear in a manner similar to some shotguns except the shotgun bolts move up and down instead of sideways from battery to ejection such as the Win 12. It has very good metal finish. The wood to metal fit is excellent. The trigger is pretty good. The only real drawback is the three round magazines are a bear to load and a little difficult to get into the rifle. Any comments or a source to find out more information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. R, amreb |
