| NEF 12g question
I was looking at buying a NEF single break action 12g and it looks like it has a full choke built into it, can u shoot slugs through it or only pellets with the choke?

I was always told to shoot slugs through at least a improved choke. I would think full choke would be way to consticted. You would get alot better accuracy with a improved choke. They do make a model with a screw in choke tubes and if they are the same chokes as the NEF pumps than they will take mossberg choke tubes. I have a old H&R Topper that is marked full choke that I can shoot slugs through...but that is only because someone before me cut the barrel down 10 inches.

foster type slugs can be shot safely thru any choke they compress in a full choke when passing thru it just keep the the gun clean and in good shape. Brenneke knock outs are my favorite.

I've always been told that slugs require barrels that are rifled, but never having shot slugs or a rifled shotgon I can't say for sure. I could be wrong but thats just what I've been told. "In Samuel Colt we trust" |

I'd imagine shooting slugs through a full choke would kick like a mule on steroids.
