Handi-Rifle .45/70

I hope this is in the right forum. I ve been looking lately at gettin a nother rifle and want something in .45/70.I considered a marlin 1895 but like the single shot better.Does anyone have any info on them? How do they shoot? Are they rugged enough to compare to my Mosin? Any information is appreciated.

NEF Handi rifles are great, accuracy is excellent, price is very affordable less then $300 at my gunshop and best of all the are built like a brick outhouse.

I don't own a 45/70 in it, I have a 22/250, but thats my 2 cents.

I have one, fine deer and hog rifle, will handle any loads that the Marlin can.

The Handi rifle is a great rifle.
The best part is that it's simple.

You can also switch out barrels easily to have another caliber you can shoot easily.

It'll kick, though. They're small. Haha

My first Handi, and I now have 11 of them, was the .45-70. It became, and still is my favorite. I shoot Hornady LeverEvolutions, 325 gr., 2050 fps. Just a superb rifle. I dropped a nice buck last Nov. 29 at 220 yards, and it never moved. I shoot it regularly at a 300 yard gong target. Once you learn to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, you can hit anything. Recoil is not a factor. My '06 kicks more. Rem factory loads are mild. Get it, you'll like it. Take a look at go2gbo.com, forums, H&R Center fire. Lots of good info there, and the .47-70 is a favorite child. CAUTION.....THIS IS ADICTIVE.

I have a Buffalo Classic in 45/70. I haven't got to shoot in much, but it is a very nice rifle. Nice wood. Good sights. Not something I would hunt with. But a Handi-rifle in 45/70 would probably be a great brush gun. I also have a Handi-rifle in .22 Hornet. Its also a good rifle.

for accuracy.

Note: It is not a heavy gun. The .45-70 has a pretty good kick and a pretty good muzzle blast. Some people get good with this cartridge yet it is not for everyone.

If you are not familiar with shooting the .45-70 I would advise shooting one before you buy one.

Recoil isn't that big of an issue.I still hate shooting my dad's .30-06,even though it doesn't have outrageous recoil.I just don't like they way it kicks.Anyways, I ve looked at a couple and both were in the $200 range.I just hope I can find reasonable ammo around here.My wal-mart doesn't have it,but they have only 1 caliber I shoot,and thats 20 ga.Would like one with iron sights and a McKeever ammo box on my belt.Those things are cool beans.
