reloading for the garand......

does anyone else have trouble with the garand beatin the livin heck outa your brass? usually i can only load maybe half my brass twice! the bolt slamming the round in the chamber just almost crushes the rear of the brass.

sounds like your M1 has minor issues. the M1 usually dings brass near the casemouth as the round is ejected the op-rod smacks it. it should not be doing damage to the rear of the brass.

Any damage to the case rim is usually done on extraction, not insertion. Often a weak extractor plunger spring or dirty chamber can be blamed.

Be glad you can get 2 reloads out of brass. The M1 wasn't designed with reloading in mind. No thought was given to the condition of the brass; only to getting the new in and the old out in the most efficient and reliable manner possible. The brass gets beaten at every turn from the "case positioner" to the oprod.
