The one on the bench is my new Lyman #55, and the one on the shelf is my grandfather's old powder measure, and I believe it is also a Lyman #55. There's no telling how old it is. There's nothing wrong with it except that it sat in storage for so long it rusted. I think if I could figure out how to get down inside of it and clean it real well, it would work.

I don't know why I didn't think of it when we were talking about this earlier, but if I tied the handle of my press up, it would stick straight out. Unlike the newer presses that work on the downstroke, my press works on the upstroke. It's OLD!

Heres my bench set-up. I've been working from this bench for almost 20 years now.
bench with ready access bullets and equipment
underneath the bench with the brass and bulk bullet inventory
and the "library" bookcase with the dies, primers, and powder inventory.
The bench is made from 2x6 planks and 3/4" plywood. It is 8" long and has stood the test of time.

I have the same press and have loaded thousands of rounds with it. I think if I used a new press, I'd be all screwed up. My hand would want to lift the handle to size the case and push it down to retract the case from the die. It would take years to un-do all the muscle memory. LOL.

Heres my setup.
Two Mec 600 Jr Mark 5's (12 and 20 gauge) Lyman No. 55 powder measure, Lee 4 hole turret press setup for 45 ACP/Auto Rim, Hornady balance beam scale with Redding powder trickler and a Lee Challenger single stage press. I installed shelfs in the gun safe for componet storage as my gun collection outgrew it.

I have to sit mine on stuff too. lol If that's a Lyman/Ohaus D-5 I also have one of those. I like the Hercules powder. I still have a little bit of Hercules Blue Dot left over. I think I have you beat on old Hodgdon powder though. I have some BL-C(2) from the early '70's. I have the old IMR cans too. I see you have the coffee can as well. I love it.

What's the red plastic do-hickey to the left of the press?

This is just a guess. I think it is a spent primer tray.

I know I've already posted a picture, but found a treasure this weekend and wanted to brag! My wife wasn't nearly as excited as I am. Her uncle had some old counter tops he was throwing away, and they fit my reloading room just perfect. I would have preferred white, but beggars can't be choosers. I went ahead and painted my shelves and hung a new light while I was at it.

man almost everybody who posted their rig on here has an envious setup going for reloading. Mine is just a homemade table with holes drilled for the press and various components to screw down onto. :-?
Makes me wanna ask who is around the san jose california area that i can hook up with to pick up some tips on how to efficiently reload. lol
