Quick Trickle?? Isn't he a race car driver? No wait, that's Dick Trickle --really!

If you really need an electronic scale, check "ScalesonLine". I get our scales for the chem lab at school from them. They operate out of the Cleveland area and beat all the other places I can find for scales accurate to .01 gram. FYI, 454 grams equal 7000 grains equal 1 pound av.

For loading, I just use my Ohaus 505 single beam balance. I have an old Forster powder measure that gives me .1 accuracy even with extruded powders. I have a trickler (2 actually) but never find a need for it. The trick is to use exactly the same motion with the measure each time. I hit it once on the up stroke and twice on the downstroke.

Hello

I'm fairly new to reloading. Right now I am using a Lee Scale, the "entry level" $20 version. It took a while to get used to using it, I think it is all right overall, but I think I will be upgrading in the future. But that in it's self is an upgrade to the "powder dippers" I was using before...LOL.

I think I have decided to go with the Lyman 1200dps or the RCBS 1500 Chargemaster. I can't decide. The lyman is about $50 to $70 cheaper.

Contrary to popular opinion, I think the Lee Safety Scale works great. The only problem I've has with the Lee is that it takes a few seconds longer than my Lyman scale for the beam to stop. It is just as accutate as my Lyman/Ohaus D-5 and is actually safer to use; The poise doesn't get bumped and move a few tenths nor does it "jump" a notch or two. I keep a mini maglight on my desk to check the settings on both scales and to look in the charged cases with a good bright light.

I have a 505 and a Pact digital. I used the 505 for years up until I bought the Pact about 3 years ago. Now just last week I was compairing them. There is a .2 difference between the two. Now I don't know which one to trust.
May not be a big deal with rifle loads but it would be with pistol loads.

RCBS Rangemaster 750, when I get nervous and jerky about digital scales I double check on a Dillon Beam scale. Calibration and zero is fairly easy on the 750 and not much different than many types.

Interesting thing about scales, breathing on them can change the measurement. One of the nice things about the RCBS charge master combo is the plastic shell that goes over the scale part.

I am sitting here now watching my 5-0-5 teter back and fourth because the heat vent near it is blowing a bit of air near it.

Well, one could then just NOT breathe on their powder scale or have it by a vent, A/C or heat? lol

I have my Lyman DPS 3 set up and running. It's worth every penny! I love it.

I use the Lee scale right now but it is a pain. I don't recommend it. I'd rather use dippers if that means anything to you. I need to replace it, but I'm saving up for a rifle right now.

I digital scale can be had for as low as 20 bucks.

Not the best, but workable.

a grain is a 1/7000th of a pound, so you need a scale that is accurate to at least 1/70000th of a pound. I don't think the 20 dollar variety can do that.
