| Full-body, push through sizer for .308?
Hello, all... Does anyone know of an available die to completely size a .308 Winchester case? I am looking for a push through sizer, like the new Redding .40 die, that takes the whole case completely through the die. Of course, one for .45 ACP would work well, too. Any suggestions? |

Like Why? What's wrong with the standard ones?

I only have the Redding one for .40 because I pick up lots of free .40 at the range that may have been fired by Glocks. Don't know of any other calibers any set of dies made for doing this.

Be kind of hard to make a push through die for a bottle neck case.

For a .308 case?Don't get the connection.Do you use a standard FLR and use this after? If a .308win was stretched that bad at the base,it seems like it would be dangerous to load or fire if you did. ,,,sam.

Sounds like you are loading for a auto rifle, they make small base dies to size the base down for proper and positive feeding. Is that what you are wanting? |

I ask because I'm not aware of any die that sizes the back 2/10ths of an inch on a case, if that part's what you're calling the "base." | |

I am only aware of "Full Length" and SB sizing dies being available for .308. Rich

The .308 case has a taper to the main body - if it can 'push thru' the die, it won't be sized.

| They would not size the neck, just the bottom. As a matter of fact, the Redding dies specifically state they are not for correctly sizing the cases, just the bases.

308's aren't strait wall a push through sizer wouldn't do anything other than size the very largest part of the case. Seems pointless. Maybe you mean something else.

Some company used to makes dies that you used a mallet to fully size the case. Then you drove it out of the die with a rod. This would fully size the base. Havent seen one for years.

Very easy to make, I'll maybe make that one of my next machining projects when I've got some time on my hands.
