Loads for 63 Sierra SP

I picked up some 63 gr SIE SP to load for my Bushy carbine. I'll be using BLC-[2] and RE-15, and Varget. Has any one loaded these?

Not using any of the 3 powders you've mentioned.

I found some numbers last night, I'll start with 24gr Varget and 25 gr of RE-15 and BLC-[2] and work up.

I've done a lot of .223 handloading but never have
anything over 55 gr. Hope you find something that works
good. Are you planning on trying these on deer? They
will probably be ok if you shoot short range and pick
your shots carefully. I know a guy that loaded the
Trophy Bonded and had good luck. Hope you find
a good load.

The 63g Sierra has proved to be the most accurate bullet for my Bushmaster 9" twist and my Rock River 8" twist. I use 25 gr BLC2.

The new Sierra manual, for bolt gun loads, starts with 25.2 of BLC(2) and goes to 27.6. With Varget, the starting load is 22.8 and max is 26.3. No data are shown for RE 15.

It does not list loads for those powders and that bullet when loading for the AR-15.

Thank you M14 man, That's some fine shooting, too. BLC-[2] has been very accurate in My Bushy, and 25 gr are bulls eyes for 69 gr SIE also, they love my 1:9 twist. 25 grains, a good number for the M4A3. This was the only bullet available that I found at the time. I use the .308 for deer. Shorter barrels like a faster powder. They have four hundred more at the little gun shop, might get them too. Thanks all!

I've loaded both Varget and BL-2(C), Varget is more accurate in my bolt gun with a 1:9 twist, an even better powder for that bullet is H-4895. IMR 4895 works well too.

My Sierra manual doesn't list any of the powders for the AR-15. The recommended powders are TAC and H335. I have used both of those powders in my ARs and they both performed really well with the 69gr. I prefer Varget though with the 69gr bullets.
Good luck on your load development.

This was about 180 yards using IMR 4895 powder and the 63 grain Semi Point bullet. All 5 shots can easily be covered with a dime.
