Question Started casting 1 more????

Due to schedule...and being a workaholic...I only had an hour this afternoon and 1 hour tonight to case...did 45acp 200SWC and 32cal balls (for buckshoot)...Id say about 70% came out looking good...some were throwbacks...not a big deal....some caused by no holding mold closed..mold too hot ect...basicly happy...bullets seem hard...but we will see how they lead...mealting dirty WW shure does stink...I did it in the grage with a big indrustrial fan going (it was raining outside)...happy I did not do it at the kitchen table...would have been dead doglips...or skined doglips .....in any case. LEE says to drop the bullets on a wet natural fiber cloth...seems to work, nothing gets dented..no splashing ect...but WHY not drop bullets into a pail of water with the cloth on the bottom or Oil.....seems like it would cool them faster...and oil would get into the pores...Im assumeing that there is a reason NOT to do this...but Im courious as to why.

Thanks All.

I sometimes drop 45-70 bullets right from the mold and into a bucket of water, it makes the bullets harder when casting with wheel weights. Just do not splash any water into your casting pot/furnace it will cause an explosion and molten lead will be flying every where!!!!!!!
