Metallurgy book

For those of you who are interested in casting bullets, I have a hardcover textbook on metallurgy that may be of interest. Make me an offer.

Here are the details:

"Metallurgy" by Carl Johnson and William Weeks
- Hardcover: 472 pages
- Publisher: Amer Technical Society; 5th edition (June 1, 1977)
- Product Dimensions: 1.0 x 7.5 x 9.2 inches
- Shipping Weight: 1.8 pounds.

Add $3.50 for normal media mail shipping.

We own a used book store on the side, and just ran across this one today. I thought someone on the list may be interested in it. You can call toll free (besides email at tntbooks@nc.rr.com). 877-443-2101.

I realize that there is no forum on G&G for items for sale. But, I wanted to give some of my fellow gun guys first crack at it, if it will help y'all.

Sent it to me free and I'll pay the postage.
Is that your best offer yet?

I think you'll find this book suited for a Mechanical Engineer in understanding metal properties and how they are affected by outside forces. It really is not applicable as a reloading book. Still a good book for anyone interested in an indepth study of metals and their properties.

Gee, and just a couple of bucks short of an actual offer.

Never said it was.

That was the idea. On some shooting email lists, there has been extensive discussion on metallurgy, smelting, casting, etc. Some people might find additional information on the topic interesting. Hence, rather than just listing it online with a book service, I figured I would make it available to folks who might want a book on the topic.

troylaplante...I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I no longer have access to equipment for heat treating metal. The book would gather dust just like several others of my old metalworking text books already on my bookshelf. But, thanks anyway. I did enjoy discussing metallurgy recently with you recently on another thread. And you taught me a few pointers, too.
